ART CLASSES
This fine art therapy class will be co-hosted by Dawn Crothers of Something Vintage. For years she has curated D.C.'s finest heirloom rentals, and custom upholstered furniture. Her growing line of custom pottery and plates are in high demand. We will learn from Dawn how to make our own set of gorgeous handmade clay plates. As usual there will be refreshments and mimosas for all attendees, and deep explorative conversation.
Sugar: a multi media designer / artist, who designs everything from wallpapers and home goods, to jewelry and apparel. This online shop (and occasional pop-up event) is a place to buy what you want----quickly, because she may not make it again.
You won't believe how hard it was to narrow our lovely clients down to only 12, but we tried our very best! Click on an image below to peruse some of our favorite moments over the years. Grab some popcorn or a glass of wine, you WILL be here for a while!
"We just want a simple fun rooftop party", said the gorgeous blonde with eyes-too-blue-to-be-real in a coffee shop somewhere in Capital Hill. We agreed, a contract was signed, and all hell broke loose in the best possible way. Audrey and Brian were due to exchange nuptials in May in Bora Bora and rudely had not gotten us tickets, (hehe) but there was nothing but love in the air. We had to pull together a bright, fun edgy rooftop party that completely reflected our stunning bride's personality. It was absolutely exciting to design, and despite the hurricane, it turned out perfect. (I assume because nice people have great karma?) Look below, and drool on yourself. Photos used with permish by
It was an amazing experience to fly our team to the Dominican Republic (we speak Spanish) for some much needed girl-time---I mean, a gorgeous wedding! We worked hard to communicate with the resort on behalf of Kristen and Mario's lovely family, and prepared for this overseas love adventure months in advance to ensure perfection. Then we arrived, worked some more, and had a ball bring things to fruition. We can definitely do this again! (Mexico here we come!) We absolutely loved working with world traveling photographer . She is HIGHLY recommended.
This was no average backyard wedding shindig! We created at least three unique, design intensive backdrops/ installations, and pulled together a ton of details for this gorgeous Virginia wedding for Kaitie and Jordan. The bride wanted lots of flowers, lots of personal detail, and a fun eclectic wedding. Her loving parents worked hard to turn their garden into the perfect venue, and we got to pick through her mothers unheard-of collection of rare and antique china and glassware to pull together the table scape and decor. captured this wedding for us!
Talar and Mark are two busy professionals living in the windy city of Chicago, who hired us to fly in and make their formal, classy wedding come to life. To be completely honest, The bride had us at blush and fuschia and despite, the frigid, 40 degree day, all the glitz and glam ended up being absolutely worth it! We were thrilled to be able to witness a wedding in one of the most architecturally beautiful ceremony venues we've seen and of course, to work in the historic Chicago Hilton. We got to play with Gold Foil Press on Blush Letterpress paper and loved every minute of it! What a loving family and fun wedding to be a part of! All photos used with permission from !
When someone as sweet and ok, I will use the word, HIP as Ashley approaches you with "can you guys design my wedding in Mexico?" the only possible answer is YES. We hopped on a plane and handled the planning for the weekend too! It was an "Adults Only Cabana" theme with dark pops of color, Gold glitter pineapples, and little fine touches added the perfect amount of pizazz. captured this wedding for us!
We absolutely needed to do this Industrial Inspired Shoot! Behind the couple, we propped up an old leather stretching tool circa the 1920′s and put a few flowers here and there for a shab-industrial look. The delicate flowers in between the wood and metal bars created a gorgeous juxtaposition of masculine and feminine.
The Jorge Manuel dress from Hitched Salon in Georgetown, fit our model, Amanda, like a glove! We loved Lisa (Petals and Promises) for the selection of flowers here! The little metal flower we threw in made it fit our theme perfectly and did not overpower.
Enjoy!

Lauren + Cameron are a NYC based couple who are a Doctor and Wall Street Investor respectively, who happen to look like movie-stars, with hearts of gold. They wanted something like a modern fairytale, and we tried to deliver that at the Fairmont Hotel in DC :) We collected over 250 pieces of unique blue and white china for this wedding, to offset the pale pink and coral pallette. captured this wedding for us!
Brian and Eileen were the winners of a promotional event that we hosted called the Great Bridal Scavenger Hunt. Their Grand Prize was a wedding worth $50,000! It was amazing. They met at a Karaoke Bar which became a staple of their relationship; a mutual love for music and one another lead them down the road to matrimony. For their wedding theme they wanted a retro music feel and of course, we ran with it! Their invitations were definitely retro with a vintage feel, and a cassette tape printed RSVP. For their programs and menus, we collected old vinyl records and attached custom labels. It was drool-worthy. Photos by
In a setting that was rich in farm history, we tied together a vision of a whimsical bride and a horse with bold, striking colors and unique accents in the wooden flower arrangements and bouquet. The brides country chic ensemble included a light summer rustic wedding dress by Bygones Vintage Clothing accented with custom DIY Jamie Slye Design hairpieces.
The outdoor reception seating area included a dessert table and his and her custom labeled beer/wine and of course DIY Apple Pie favors. A floral chandelier and authentic tables and seating helped make this a true country inspiration.

Ashley and Frankie met in high school, dated, and we had the pleasure of being involved in their wedding. Every little detail was on theme, and done in a very tasteful way, from the handmade paper plane backdrop that we had made by a close friend, to the pencil place-cards, and the locker love notes, it was a really adorable wedding. They even incorporated their sweet pup in the nuptials. Photos by
Xiaoyi + Bochen were so fun to work with! As colorful as her wedding was, Xiaoyi lacked nothing in the personality department. She wanted an Eastern Design, which spoke to her Chinese heritage, and lots of entertainment without skimping on the glittery, sparkly elements all over, so of course, we were all for it! She took our design plans, and got to work, making over 100 elaborately folded mini paper flowers and paper lotus favors with a Ferrero- Rocher chocolate in the middle. The talented captured this event for us.
